☽ Nightflying ☾

Hello! I have been so busy with fabric shopping, answering emails, meetings, and my stockist, aaaall for Miracle Eye. Yes, you read that right, STOCKIST. S-T-O-C-K-I-S-T. How exciting is that?! This really rad boutique in Los Angeles called 'Distinct Designers' is owned by Megan and John, their concept is totally unique. They've gathered a small amount of independent designers, who produce everything themselves, and have their things on display and on sale in the shop! I was honored to have been chosen as one of the lucky designers! What makes this so different about other shops is that we are all different and distinct (sticking to the title, obvi), which makes it less of a competition but more so a family. It's pretty funny that I'm the only underage designer there, ha. Never underestimate a teenager's ambition! It'll be opening up in March, but I've been so busy with production AND I have to keep up with all the daily orders I receive because I want it all ready by then! My area in the shop is going to be sweet as heck, I can promise y'all that. So if you're ever in LA, make sure to stop by Distinct Designers and check out the Miracle Eye pieces in stock :)

Crochet & Velvet

Hello! First off, I'd like to say hello to my new followers! I can say that the outfit in my previous post, Cosmic Love, has been one of my favorites ever! Also, I've reached 300 followers on this blog! I don't know how to really express to you guys how much it means so much to me.. I remember when I reached 13 followers and I felt like I was on top of the world. So you can imagine how I feel now.. You guys rock! Ironically, I've got another pair of shit quality photos for you guys, brought to you by Byron. Sorry sorry sorry, but it's the outfit that counts right?

Heh so guess what?!!!!! Little Miss Codeine here finally got a pair of SHOES to match her title!!!!! I have literally 12948723984723 pieces of velvet clothing, not to mention, that 85% of all the clothes from Miracle Eye are velvet, obsession much? But now I've got velvet shoes, in burgundy <3 <3 <3

Now that we're on the topic of Miracle Eye, I've just stocked a pair of....... wait for it........ Vintage..... BUFFALO PLATFORMS!!!! Aaahhhh! They're so freakin' beautiful.. Seriously. Whoever buys these are purchasing a pair of the most amazing shoes ever to have been created. My mom saw me wearing these and couldn't stop laughing, some people just don't get it. Which is totally fine, because I don't see myself ever liking her 3 inch thin red stilettos :~)

Cosmic Love

I have been listening to Florence and the Machine for the past three days non-stop. Literally. Like I am listening to her during class, while walking to places, before going to sleep, I'm actually listening to my favorite song by her right now called 'Drumming Song' as I'm typing this. Thank you Spotify! I STRONGLY suggest you take a listen to her album titled Lungs. It's moving and her lyrics are phenomenal. There's also a Facebook fan page for her legs. Need I say more?

Speaking of Facebook, it will no longer be accessible to anyone, as well as Youtube, eBay, Tumblr, Twitter, and dare I say it..... Etsy. Hold your tears in for that last one, and please take two seconds to sign this petition against SOPA and PIPA. After signing, feel free to drench your keyboard in Maybelline mascara filled tears. Congress is planning on passing a new bill censoring the internet on the 24th. I'm counting my days and am just hopeful that they come to their senses soon. There are so many more important things going on in our country. Try getting us out of this rut for once, will ya?

Now I feel awkward listing what my outfit consists of when the internet's life is going to be decided in a few days from today.. Oh well. This is my blog and I can make it awkward if I want to. I got this new bag at my favorite flea market two weeks ago and I am in LOVE. Like seriously, it's perfect. It holds nearly all my packages when I go to the postal office and once I clean out a little better, I'm going to start using it for school. I've been using it non-stop everyday when I go fabric shopping or to the library. It's soooooooooooooo *cleans drool off keyboard* perfect. Also, I've been wearing huge blouses that I've thrifted as dresses after being inspired by Kat and Madeline talking/including outfit photos of over-sized blouses being used as dresses with a belt. I've also decided to not touch my hair for the remainder of the month. I'm planning on dying it an extreme color soon and I don't want it to end up like my rabbit's favorite snack, Timothy Hay, therefore I will not be straightening/bleaching my ends/dying my roots for a while. I want healthy, pretty hair. Not coarse, gruesome looking hair. I'm actually a little undecided on what color to dye it as I've already got a few wigs on the way, but I still think that not burning it with a hot iron for a while is a good idea.

Psycho Sisters

Hey hey hey! Alright, so yesterday was my mom's birthday! Yay!!!! Mom, who happens to be my Miracle Eye parter, I love you! Seriously, thank you for putting up with my weird ass style, humor, and lifestyle.. You're the best. Aside from working for Miracle Eye and making every single amazing garment (aside from the turbans.. yours truly makes those, heh.), she also makes alterations for people upon request! Natalia, my cousin, was invited to the Golden Globes. For those of you who don't live in the US or just don't watch television in general (Go you! Television suxxx), it's an award ceremony where tons of attractive celebrities go and receive pointless awards for their terrible acting skills, rapping skills, shit like that. Natalia went to a thrift store and purchased this red-orange paisley, sequin filled skirt that literally fit her 10 sizes too big. It was huge, and I mean huuuuuge.. So of course, she brought it over, and my mom worked her magic on it and TA DA! It was turned into a flattering form-fitting dress. Incredible. I'll include a photo in this post of it, it's seriously crazy how she turned this really large, wide, and weird looking skirt into a breathtaking dress!

Also, what do you guys think of my new hair? Nice huh?

JK! GOTCHA! HA! HA HA! But in all seriousness, fellow blogger/soul-mate Isabel purchased the same wig I am wearing here and she is totally rockin' it. I'll include photos of her outfit as well. Ha, I think it's safe to say that REAL friends buy matching wigs. I mean, if you don't have matching wigs, you don't have anything, right? PS, we purchased the wig on eBay for like $15 or something. Are we winning? Wait, that was rhetorical, OF COURSE WE ARE! *chuckling slowly fading away while simultaneously turning you from a calm frog into a paranoid kangaroo..*

This is the dress I spoke about in the above paragraph! God, my mom is so talented and my cousin is gooooorgeous.

Lastly, here is my homegirl Isabel wearing the same wig I am! We kind of purchased them at the same time online, it was like an online shopping spree that gals do together, because you know how normal people totally do that. I love this girl to death, seriously. Go check out her blog because if you like my style, you will DEFINITELY love hers. Her shirt, her socks, gimmmee! PS did I mention that she has a really weird obsession rappers who happen to be male, in their late-30's, and Latino? She likes Daddy Yankee and Sean Paul (I think he's Spanish.. not sure, but who cares!). But she LOVES Pitbull. She's got quite the music taste..

The future we've found, to stay here on higher ground

Hi guys! You can officially say (this is past due), that I'm obsessed with yin and yang.. Just look at my t-shirt dress, ha. I bought this baby off of Etsy, it's orange ombre hand-dyed and super soft. Ugh, I love it so much. Again, I apologize for the shit quality of these photos but I will admit that I am digging the 'soft' look these in particular have. My mom took these right before I went to bed (I look exhausted) since all day long I hadn't taken my camera and we were out from the morning till late at night. PS do you like my nails? I painted them to match this dress :)

Wake up, you're dead!

It is finally Friday, the best day of the week! My week consists of the following: fabric stores, the library, post office, thrift stores, and the craft store. That's it. Yep. Ya heard right! Larissa sure has a life! But I really do, because sometimes my friends accompany me. Or one friend in particular, Byron! He is da best and if you're reading this Byron (which you probably are), you sure are the best! Usually he's the one who's taken the outdoor photos of me like the ones in this post (aside from the Miracle Eye ones, those are by my mom or sister)! So with that being said, all of those things listed above take up my time during the day and I don't start heading home until late at night, soooo I apologize on my behalf (and Byron) for the shitty quality of these photos. I mean it was literally pitch black, you have no idea how much I had to screw around with curves on Photoshop, but avoided going to bright to the point where it would get all grainy and the colors fade then get all purple and I'm just blabbing on for no reason, blab blab blab. Blab.

Well anyways, hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Also, I got this super amazing yin yang necklace with this aura on the center piece! So perfect. Unfortunately from the photos that were taken, the close ups were complete crap, but I've included a gif of the necklace taken at home :)
